How to Select the Best Projector

Buying a projector can seem daunting

Projectors are useful for all types of needs. You may need something to teach a class, or just want something to show off a video on a laptop to a group of people. There are many different types of projectors that you need to choose the right one for your needs. Here are three tips to help you select the best one.

What Brightness Level Do You Need?

You won’t always have a dark room to show off the video/presentation. When selecting a projector, you need to consider this, so you choose one with the best brightness level. If you’re going to use it in a light room regularly, look for one that has a higher brightness setting.

How Sharp Does the Resolution Need to Be?

You will find that projectors have different resolution figures. You’ll have seen these written for TVs, computer monitors, phones and many other technological gadgets. The resolution affects how sharp images are. If you want a home cinema system, choosing higher numbers is preferred. It gives you a clearer image. If you’re looking for something on a budget, where it’s for minimal use, you may be able to get away with lower resolutions. This is a personal choice, though.

Where Are You Placing It?

It’s important to consider the location of your projector, as this will affect its weight. If you want to place it high—where it doesn’t need to be moved—a lightweight projector could be considered. However, you may get away with heavier ones, as long as the ceiling holds. If you need to carry the projector around regularly, think about lightweight, smaller options to make your job much easier.

Take your time when considering the best projector for your needs. This is more than just looking at your budget. You need to consider the size, weight, brightness and resolution. These all affect the quality of the image you will see, and the ease of use.
